Army beat Wapda

LAHORE, Aug 24: Army recorded its second win when it recovered to beat a strong Wapda side 17-13 in the national inter-departmental baseball championship on Sunday.

In the encounter which extended to nine innings, Army were trailing 9-7 at the end of the fourth innings. Wapda forged 12-7 ahead by scoring three more runs in the fifth innings against nil by Army.

The soldiers turned the table by collecting eight runs in the last two innings against one by the rivals.

For Army, Aashiq, Asif and Imtiaz batted well and scored four runs each. Kamran Khan contributed two runs while Riaz, Farooq and Kamran chipped in a run each.

Wapda will meet Police in the next match on Monday.
