Army rout Police

LAHORE, Aug 23: Defending champions Army made a fine start when they defeated Police by nine runs to six in the opening match of the national Inter-departmental baseball championship on Saturday.

At the end of the seventh innings, Police could score six runs. Earlier, Army had scored nine runs at the end of the sixth innings, therefore, they did not bat for the seventh innings.

For Army, Riaz Khan and Kamran scored two runs apiece. Arif, Aamir, Farooq, Abdur Rehman and Omar Khan added a run each.

For Police, Shahzad Anwar contributed two runs while Musaddaq Hanif, Muzaffar Hussain, Waqas Khan and Kamran chipped in a score each.
