SAHIWAL, Aug 22: The weather forecast centre will be set up in Sahiwal to keep growers informed about the latest weather conditions.

This was disclosed by District Nazim Rai Hassan Nawaz Khan here on Friday in the presence of the meteorological department’s regional director and the district agriculture officer.

He asked both the officials to select a suitable site for the establishment of the meteorological office.

Earlier, the District Nazim planted a sapling of “Ashoka” at his office ground and said that 100,000 saplings would be planted alongside the water courses and the agricultural land.

STRUGGLE: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal will continue its struggle till the restoration of the 1973 Constitution and the supremacy of parliament.

This was stated by MMA leader and JUP deputy secretary Allama Shabbir Ahmad Hashmi while speaking at the ‘Siddiq-i-Akbar (RA) Conference’ here on Thursday night.

He said that the conspiracy to bring parliament under the control of a single person would be foiled. Punjab MMA secretary-general Qari Muhammad Zawwar said the dictatorship would soon be replaced with the Islamic system.

MPA Mufti Ghulam Farid Hazarvi said that any attempt by the rulers to oust the opposition from the assemblies would tarnish the image of the country.
