Shahzad and Shahid shine: Basketball
KARACHI, Aug 20: Thirteen times champion Pakistan Army Reds outsgunned Pakistan Navy 92-45 on the second day of
All Pakistan Inter-depart-
ment basketball tournament at KPT Sports Complex on Wednesday.
In other matches WAPDA wallopped Higher Education Commission (HEC) 117-43, while Pakistan Navy drubbed KESC 77-55, Habib Bank defeated PAF 61-48 and Pakistan Railways overwhlemed Pakistan Police 73-32.
Wapda’s Shahzad and Shahid took the day’s scoring honours rattling in 34 and 27 points against hapless HEC.
Ten departments divided into two groups are taking part in the championship. Group A comprises Army Reds, Navy, Railways, Pakistan Police and KESC while Habib Bank, WAPDA, Army Greens, PAF and HEC are in group B.
Today’s fixtures: Pakistan Army Greens v HEC; Pakistan Army Red v KESC; PAF v WAPDA; Pakistan Navy v Pakistan Police; Habib Bank v Pakistan Army Greens; KESC v Pakistan Railways.
The final will be played on Aug 24 at the same venue.—PPI
