KARACHI: PPP slams media campaign

Published August 21, 2003

KARACHI, Aug 20: The Pakistan Peoples Party has condemned the media campaign against chairperson of the party, Ms Benazir Bhutto and her spouse Mr Asif Ali Zardari as part of the organized government efforts to damage their international image and reputation.

In a press statement issued by the media cell of the Bilawal House here on Wednesday, it said that the government had recoursed to this move to divert attention of the masses from Legal Framework Order (LFO) and other major issues.

It reminded that people of the country were well conscious that besides Ms Benazir Bhutto, her father and grandfather had served on the prestigious slot of premiership and nobody could deny their belonging to the opulent segment of society.

“The government should take notice of the huge wealth accumulated by the former dictators, who ruled the country,” it added.—PPI
