Sarfraz, Imran strike it rich

SARACHI, Aug 19: KCCA Zone-II Whites, Zone-V Whites and Zone-VII Whites moved into the semifinal of the Touchme Inter- zonal trophy after winning their pool matches from Group B, D and C here Monday on different grounds.

The highlights of the matches were Sarfraz Ahmed’s brilliant 79 which powered Zone-II (W) past Zone-IV and Imran Bashir’s devastating spell that earned him six wickets for 30 which however was not good enough as his team Zone-V(W) still lost to Zone-VII (W) by ten runs.

Zone-V(W) 202 for four wickets in 46 overs (Waseem Hanif 78 n.o 7x4 1x6, Khalid 36, M.Shafiq 31, Tariq Murad 22; Umair Ahmed 3/68)

Zone VII (W) beat Zone-III (W) by 10 runs at Asifabad Sports Ground. Zone VII(W) 167 all out in 47.24 overs (Faisal Ashraf 47, Faisal 39, Burhan Moosa 23; Imran Bashir 6/30).
