HYDERABAD, Aug 19: The city Mukhtiarkar has recommended 49 applications out of 2,300 received from people whose properties were completely or partially damaged in rains.

The Mukhtiarkar in his report said 1,260 houses were surveyed in the city taluka and 49 applications were recommended for payment of compensation in the wake of a meeting of the district relief committee, held on Aug 9. One recommended application pertained to completely destroyed house and the rest related to partially damaged houses.

The Mukhtiarkar did not give any reason in his report as to why the remaining applications were not recommended for payment of compensation.

The applications for see-king relief were received till Aug 13.

The report said 1,040 applications were under scrutiny.

The applications which were recommended for compensation were forwarded to the Mukhtiarkar for verification by the EDO, revenue, Union Council-10 Nazim Dr Ayaz Arain, UC-14 Nazim Mir Suleman Talpur and UC-16 Nazim Manthar Ali Jatoi. There are 20 union councils in the city taluka.
