HYDERABAD, Aug 17: Consul-General of the Peoples Republic of China Sun Chunye has said there is a tremendous prospect for Pakistan and his country to cooperate in the fields of agriculture, animal husbandry and fisheries.

He was speaking at a reception hosted in his honour by the Hyderabad Institute of International Affairs at a local hotel on Friday.

He said remarkable achievements had been witnessed in bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the two countries over the past 52 years.

Mr Chunye said there was still a great potential for growth of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

He urged the Pakistani business to visit China to look into the demand of Chinese customers and present Pakistani products in China.

The consul-general said China and Pakistan should further enhance coordination and cooperation in a bid to safeguard the legitimate interests of developing countries and maintain peace and stability in South Asia and the world at large.

He said great changes had taken place in China during the last 25 years of reforms and the country had socially and economically opened its doors to the rest of the world.

Sindh minister for population welfare Imtiaz Shaikh and Hyderabad District Nazim Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman also attended the function.
