KARACHI, Aug 16: A fine all-round performance by Imtiaz Iqbal and equally good contributions by Mohammad Javed and Mansoor Siddiqui enabled Dawn Group beat SCGB by seven wickets in the AKU Sports and Rehabilitation Centre cricket tournament.

SCGB, sent into bat by Dawn Group skipper Salman Akbar, scored 182 for seven in their allotted 25 overs. Zubair Javed was the top-scorer with 65 while Rafi Ahmed made an unbeaten 37.

Off-spinner Mansoor Siddiqui captured three for 20. He was ablu supported by medium-pacer Imran and off-spinner Imtiaz Iqbal, both taking two wickets apiece.

Dawn Group comfortably reached their target, thanks to the 110-run partnership for third wicket between Mohammad Javed (78 not out) and Man-of-the-Match Imtiaz Iqbal (48),, reaching 183 for three in 24.1 overs.

Opening batsman Zafar Iqbal was the other chief contributor with 33.
