KARACHI: Schools near oil-hit beach to remain closed


KARACHI, Aug 16: Public and private schools located within two kilometre radius of the seashore have been closed for three days, i.e Aug 18, 19 and 20.

An announcement to this effect was made here on Saturday, on behalf of the Sindh Education Secretary Ghulam Ali Pasha.

It said that 12 government and 15 private schools are located in the zone.

The schools that will remain shut are: GBSS Hawkesbay, GBSS Shamspir, GBSS Mubarak Village, GBSS Jackson, GBSS Younusabad, GBSS Haji Pir Mohammad, GGPS Neelam Colony, GGPS Abdullah Shah Ghazi, GGPS Khatri islamia, GBPS Bhutta Village, GBPS Shams Pir No 1 and 2.

The private schools to remain shut from are: Karachi Grammar School Clifton, Bay View Academy, Frobel Education Centre, Beacon House School Clifton, City school Darekshan, Convent jesus and Mary, Mrs Haq Montessori, Clifton Grammar School, Lady Bird Clifton Branch, Happy Home Clifton Branch, St Peters High School Clifton Branch, Lysum School, St Micheal Convent School, Clifton Public School and the British School.—APP
