SAHIWAL, Aug 15: Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has directed the district governments to launch an operation against the corrupt district officers.

This was disclosed by District Nazim Rai Hassan Nawaz Khan while speaking on the eve of the Independence Day at the local Zafar Ali Stadium on Thursday.

The district Nazim paid rich tributes to President Pervez Musharraf for doing away with the British system of governance and introducing the district government system.

He urged the leadership of the opposition to show flexibility in its stand on the LFO in the best interest of the country.

RELEASED: At least 18 prisoners of the Sahiwal Central Jail were released on the Independence Day on the orders of President Pervez Musharraf.
