LAHORE, Aug 13: Punjab University Women Sports Department organised badminton, table tennis and volleyball competitions to celebrate the Independence Day at the university’s New Campus on Wednesday.

Results

Badminton (singles): Shagufta Kausar (winner), Irum Raza (runner-up).

Doubles: Shagufta Kausar and Mehwish Rasheed (winners), Aasma Bukhari and Zaib-un-Nisa (runnersup).

Table tennis: Singles: Mehwish Rasheed (winner), Shagufta Kausar (runner-up).

Doubles: Mehwish Rasheed and Shagufta Kausar (winners), Qudsia Khatoon and Asifa Bano (runnersup).

Volleyball: Punjab University Teaching Department beat Government Fatima Jinnah Degree College, Chona Mandi, Lahore in the final to win the event. Government College, Baghbanpura came in third place.
