Zone-VI Whites in semifinals


KARACHI, Aug 13: Zone-VI Whites moved into semifinals of the Touchme Trophy Under-17 Inter-zonal cricket tournament after defeating Zone-I Blues by 73 runs at the TMC Ground on Tuesday.

In another match played Landhi Gymkhana Ground, Zone-V Blues beat Zone-VII Greens by 12 runs.

Zone-VI Whites were all out for 149 in 47.5 overs with leg-spinner Hasan Abbas grabbing five for 45.

Zone-I Blues, in reply, were bundled out for 76 in 36.4 overs. Azhar Shah, the leg-spinner, captured four for 12 and Zaheer Abbas three for 26.

In the other match, Zone-V Blues was all out for 113 in 41.5 overs despite Adnan-ur-Rehman scoring a fine 49.

Off-spinner Zahid Anwar claimed five for 30.

Zone-VII Greens, in reply, were all out for 101 for 45.1 overs with Mohammad Asif making 41.
