HSC exam results

LARKANA, Aug 13: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education announced results of HSC Part-II annual examination- 2003 of pre-medical and pre-engineering groups on Wednesday.

The girls outshone the boys in both groups but no one could clinch A-1 grade across the board.

The controller, Prof Rabnawaz Tunio, said the BISE reserved the right of rectifying errors in the result at any time on the basis of original record.

In pre-medical group where 7603 candidates took examination, 5346 were declared successful. The girl candidates’ passing percentage was assessed at 72.76 while that of boys was 69.14, the announcement said.

The candidates placement in different grades is as under: 167 (A grade), 1263 (B), 2805 (C), 1108 (D) and 03 (E). However, 2257 candidates could not qualify whereas the BISE authority had found 233 cases of using unfair means in the examination.

The first three positions (boys) in pre-medical group in order of merit are:

Mohammed Salman Khoso (seat No 51876), of the Government Degree College Thul (858 marks) stood first. Fareed Ahmed Shaikh, son of Dr Sikandar Shaikh, (seat No 41248), of the Government Degree College Larkana (857 marks) stood second, while Sarfraz Bhutto (seat No51467) of the Government Degree College Jacobabad obtained 855 marks and secured third position.

In girl candidates, students of the Government Girls College, Larkana, clinched all the positions. They are: Nazia Parveen seat No41987 obtained 856 marks (first position). Saima Shaikh seat No41778 got 849 marks (second position). Asma seat No41855 got 848 marks (third position).

In pre-engineering group 2391 candidates had appeared and only 1580 were declared successful whereas 91 cases of cheating had been detected. No one could clinch A-1 grade in this group. Eighty-eight candidates were placed in A, 435 B, 709 C, 346 D and 03 E. The combined pass percentage was assessed at 66.08 where the passing percentage of girls candidates was 78.08 and that of boys was 65.70, the announcement said.

The first three positions (boy candidates) in pre-engineering group were declared as under: Tallal Tauseef Mughal, seat No68153 of the Wapda College Guddu got 872 marks and stood first, Touqeer Nawaz Memon, seat No66869 obtained 854 marks and stood second while Vikash son of Shamlal Modi, seat No60614 got 849 marks and stood third.

In female candidates the first positions in order of merit are: Aneela Pathan seat No60501 of Government Girls College Larkana got 837 marks and stood first, Paras Abro seat No60422 of Public School Larkana got 828 marks and stood second while Rabell Gaad seat No60524 got 812 marks and stood third.
