LAHORE, Aug 10: Thieves and dacoits took away cash and valuables from different parts of the city on Sunday.
Cash and gold ornaments worth Rs1.1 million were stolen from a house inside Bhati Gate.
Zubair told police he along with his family had gone to Murree and on return, he found that his house had been swept away. He claimed that Rs250,000 in cash and 150-tola gold were found missing.
Rasheeda Begum of Shahdara Town told the police his family was asleep when thief(s) broke into the house and made off with cash, gold and valuables worth Rs300,000.
Another theft of Rs75,000 was reported at the house of Mansoor in Wahdat Colony.
Shahzad was on his way home when two motorcyclists intercepted him in Ghalib Market and took away Rs95,000 in cash from him at gunpoint.
Haji Sharif was deprived of cash and two cell phones worth Rs75,000 by three gunmen at Chauburji.
Three armed men stormed into the house of Javed at Hamza Town in Nishtar Colony and made off with cash, gold ornaments and valuables worth Rs200,000.
Four gangsters burst into the spare-parts shop of Rafiq in Qila Gujar Singh and took away cash and cell phones worth Rs40,000.
Two gun-toting men snatched a motorcycle, while two cars were stolen from Allama Iqbal Town and Civil Lines.
