KARACHI: Two commit suicide

KARACHI, Aug 10: Two persons, including a lady doctor, committed suicide in different areas of the city on Sunday.

A man ended his life after being frustrated from domestic problems at his Lasbella home. Police said Shams Ali, 35, had been jobless for the last many months and had been frustrated due to domestic problems. He consumed a heavy dose of some poisonous stuff and died subsequently.

A lady doctor committed suicide at her Khokhrapar home after she got divorce papers from her husband.

Police said Dr Sumaira Anwar married Mohammad Pervez some four months back, who went abroad for work. For the last two months, Sumaira had lost contact with her husband. On Sunday, she got a letter along with divorce papers from her husband. In a fit of depression, she consumed a heavy dose of poisonous stuff and died.

ACCIDENTS: Two persons, died in road accidents.

An unidentified vehicle knocked down Huma Iqbal, 18, to death on the Super Highway. Her body was shifted to a hospital for autopsy. Later, the body was handed over to her relatives.

An unidentified man died after a truck ran over him in Arambagh police limits.

Police said the speeding truck (JP-5051) ran over a man, sleeping on a footpath on M.A. Jinnah Road near the Jama Cloth Market. The man died on the spot. Police impounded the truck and arrested driver Intezar.
