HYDERABAD, Aug 9: The activists of Tahrik-i-Islami Pakistan and other religious parties staged a protest demonstration outside local press club on Friday to protest against the arrest of vice-president of MMA, Hyderabad district, Syed Tajammul Abbas Naqvi, and his brother, Azhar Shah, on Aug 2.

Speaking on the occasion, the district president of the MMA and the Jamaat-i-Islami leader, Maulana Abdul Waheed Qureshi, and others condemned the arrest of MMA leader.

They said religious parties were against terrorism and sectarianism and they had always cooperated in the maintaining of law and order situation.

They demanded of the authorities to order a judicial investigation into the incident. The protesters also raised slogans of “Shia Sunni, Bhai Bhai”.

DEMO: The activists of Sindh Chandia Welfare Association staged a protest demonstration outside local press club here on Friday against an attack on MPA Ghulam Qadir Chandio in Nawabshah.

The leaders of the association said the MPA and his companions were attached under a conspiracy. They said the MPA was implicated in a false case.

They warned that if justice was not restored, the Chandios would continue their protest throughout Sindh.
