WASHINGTON, Aug 7: US businesses boosted productivity at a sizzling 5.7 per cent annual pace in the second quarter, data showed on Thursday, raising hope for speedier economic growth and, finally, new jobs.
Productivity — a driving force that largely determines the maximum speed of the economy — beat even the healthy 4.0-per cent increase forecast by Wall Street analysts.—AFP
