HYDERABAD: Wasa’s failure to drain out water flayed By Our Correspondent

HYDERABAD, Aug 3: Residents of Makrani Para, Shah Faisal Colony and Makki Shah Road area took to the streets here on Saturday against the accumulation of filthy and rainwater on the main road.

They also burnt tyres on the Makki Shah Road near the Hyderabad railway crossing.

There has been no traffic on the road for the last several days as it is submerged by rainwater.

Led by Javed Ali, Shahid, Kamran and others, the protesters said the residents were facing problems to wade through the filthy water. They said the road was destroyed by the standing water.

They said the civic life in the area was paralysed. They said they had been complaining against officials of civic agencies for their inefficiency but to no avail.

Latifabad Taluka Nazim Abdul Jabbar Khan rushed to the spot and persuaded the protesters to end their protest.

He assured the protesters that their grievances would be redressed.
