SCA secretary meets selectors


KARACHI, Aug 2: Aslam Sanjrani, secretary of Sindh Cricket Association (SCA) and chairman of selectors, held a meeting on Saturday with newly formed selection committee to decide parameters for selection.

The meeting, at National Stadium, was also attended by members of the selection committee, former Test cricketers Aftab Baloch, Jalaluddin, Azeem Hafeez besides former international Asif Ahmed and former first-class cricketers Naseem Mughal and Mahfooz Ali.

Sanjrani said SCA has written a letter to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding certain selection criteria and other details before Sindh under-19 trials on Aug 9 and 10.

Sanjrani further said that SCA has written to various associations in the interior of Sindh, asking them send five to eight best players for the trials besides asking the disgruntled Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) to send 35 talented cricketers for inter-regional under-19 trials.

He added national selectors like Saleem Yousuf and Shoaib Mohammad, coaches of academies like Jalaluddin, Azeem Hafeez have been inducted in the committee as they are aware of the performance of those youngsters, having spent six-week with them.—APP
