GUJRANWALA, Aug 2: Deputy-Inspector General of police (DIG) Altaf Qamar took charge of his office on Saturday.
He had served as SP in Gujranwala and SSP in Gujrat. He was promoted to the rank of DIG and was posted traffic DIG in Lahore.
Mr Qamar was posted in Gujranwala after DIG Malik Iqbal’s suspension from service in connection with the Sialkot jail killings along with Sialkot DPO Amjad Javed Saleemi.
Meanwhile, DCO Faisal Asghar also took charge of his office.
