SUKKUR, Aug 2: The Jagirani and the Narejo tribes have decided to stop attacking against each other until the holding of a jirga on Aug 4.

A decision in this regard was announced at a meeting held at the Pir-jo-Goth on Friday.

Senate Chairman Mohammedmian Soomro and president of Muslim League-F president Pir Pagaro were instrumental in bringing about peace for the time being in the area.

Leaders of both the tribes, who attended the meeting embraced each other and assured in the presence of senior police officials that tribesmen from either of the tribe would desist from attacking each other until the jirga’s verdict.

Mir Sunder Khan Sundrani would represent the Jagirani tribe in the jirga while Himath Ali Kamario would represent the Narejo tribe. Eleven Jagirani and six Narejo tribesmen have so far been killed in the violence between the two tribes.
