SWABI, July 31: Women councillors of the district council, Swabi have protested against the attitude of their male colleagues during the council’s budget session.

Women councillors were not given the opportunity to express their views on the district budget, passed by the council on Thursday.

The council’s session presided over by Mumtaz Khan advocate lasted only for 20 minutes and all the male members spoke in favour of the Rs809.2 million budget for 2003-04.

A senior member of the council, Nishat Begum rejected the budget alleging that the convener had failed to give any opportunity to women councillors to express their views on the budget.
