QUETTA, July 30: A tribunal headed by Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai, a judge of the Balochistan High Court investigating July 4 massacre of faithful in a mosque that left about 50 people dead, recorded the statement of a former Superintendent of Police, City, Wazir Khan Nasar.

The police officer stated that he had rushed to the spot after getting information about the incident and found many seriously wounded people lying on the floor of the mosque beside the bodies.

DSP Ashfaq Jamali, recording his statement, told the tribunal that he took the injured in a vehicle to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH).

He said when he was told that a terrorist was in the Imambargah he went inside and found the attacker seriously wounded and took him to the CMH.

The police officer said that he had urged the doctors on duty in hospital to take special care of the injured terrorist to save his life as he was an important evidence. However, after 15 minutes, the doctors informed the police officer that the attacker had expired.

Another tribunal headed by Justice Ahmed Khan Lashari investigating the June 8 incident which left 12 police trainees dead in an ambush, recorded the statement of police trainee Zakir Hussain.

The police trainee said that three people riding a motorcycle opened fire on the police vehicle, killing and injuring trainees.

Zakir stated that if the attackers were brought before him he could identify them.
