By Shafiq Ahmad

PESHAWAR, July 29: The political administration of North Waziristan Agency (NWA) has arrested 22 tribesmen in connection with a bomb explosion, which wounded eight people in the Miranshah bazaar on Sunday.

The device was planted near an FC vehicle in Madina Market in Miranshah town, the headquarters of the NWA. Eight people sustained injuries from shrapnel, while a vehicle was damaged partially in the explosion.

Informed sources said on Tuesday that the political authorities had arrested 22 tribesmen on suspicion of their involvement in the explosion.

On Monday, another explosive device went off at a scrap godown in Saidgi village near Miranshah, killing two people, including a woman.

Ibrahim Khan, a scrap dealer, had stored a large quantity of scrap in his house in Saidgi village. A shell lying in the godown exploded, killing Din Makhel, son of Ibrahim, and Toor Gul’s wife, while Luqman, son of Gul Hajat Khan, Akhtar Mohammad, son of Ibrahim, and an unknown woman received injuries. The house was partially damaged in the explosion.
