Wasa employees stage demo

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, July 29: The employees union of Water and Sewerage Authority, Balochistan, staged a protest demonstration in front of the Wasa main office on Tuesday to press for the acceptance of their demands.

Balochistan Labour Federation (BLF) president Khan Zaman, Wasa employees union chief Bashir Ahmed and Abid Butt spoke at the demonstration and demanded that the government should resolve workers’ problems.

The speakers said that they had presented a charter of demands to the district Nazim and were assured that the issues would be resolved. But to the day the administration had not fulfilled its commitment.

They also demanded that the kin of the former Wasa employees should be given jobs in the authority and all the illegal appointments be cancelled.

Speakers also demanded that like other departments the employees of Wasa should be granted utility allowances.
