PPL victorious

KARACHI, July 28: Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) inflicted a 2-0 defeat on Usmanabad Union in KASB Premier League at CDGK Stadium on Sunday.

The match between two teams, already relegated, never rose to great height and PPL struck once in each half to notch up their third win.

Mushtaq Ahmed struck in 9th minute and Anwar Zaib 43rd minute for the winners.

The Man-of-the-Match was Usmanabad Union’s Muhammad Zahid.

PPL finished the 10-team league with 11 points while Usmanabad Union managed to win twice and lost seven times in their nine matches.

They were second last, only above Bhutta Muhammadan.

The heavy rain continued to disturb the championship as the encounter between Nawab Eleven and Aga Khan Gymkhana was abandoned after 17 minutes.

The organizing committee decided to award one point each to both teams.

Nawab XI saved themselves form the relegation. They managed 13 points from their nine matches while Aga Khan Gymkhana relegated as they finished with only 10 points.—APP
