ISLAMABAD, July 28: The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has dismissed a senior auditor of collectorate of sales tax and central excise, Rawalpindi, from service on the charges of turpitude.

According to a notification issued here on Monday, the removal order of the senior auditor, Attaullah Noonari, will be effective retrospectively from June 19, 2003.

The auditor was arrested by the police on November 24, 2001, and then placed under suspension with effect from November 27, 2001, till the termination of criminal proceedings against him by the police.

The additional session judge, Islamabad, on June 19, 2003, convicted and sentenced the auditor to two years of rigorous impressment. The judge had also imposed Rs10,000 fine on the convict.
