Two killed

RAWALPINDI, July 28: A person, who was injured in a clash between two groups of transporters in Chontra on July 23, died in the District Headquarters hospital, Rawalpindi, while another one was killed in a road accident in Islamabad.

According to the police, Ijaz Ahmed and Ghulam Hussain were shot and injured in a clash between the two rival groups in Chontra on July 23. During the clash, another person, Akbar Ali, was also killed on the spot.

The injured were shifted to the DHQ hospital where Ijaz Ahmed died while undergoing liver surgery on Monday. The other person, Ghulam Hussain, is also said to be in critical condition. The police have handed over the body to Ijaz’s relatives after the autopsy.

In the second incident, police found the body of a man, employed as a waiter in a local hotel, near Rawal Lake on early Monday morning.

The police said Tasadak Hussain left the hotel on late Sunday night and was killed after being run over by speeding vehicle.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Ayub, an ASI at Taxila police station, was booked for failing to deposit four pistols and narcotics seized in a raid, in the Malkhana.—Staff Reporter
