KARACHI: Murtaza murder case hearing adjourned

KARACHI, July 28: The hearing of the Murtaza Bhutto murder case was adjourned on Monday to Aug 4 by Ali Sain Dino Matilo, the district and sessions judge, East, as cross-examination of the 19th witness, from a list of 223, continued.

The hearing of the case against Asif Zardari and others was held inside the Karachi central prison.

Kazi Ashraf, counsel for Wajid Durrani, and one of the defence counsel, Adam Jaferi, cross examined Dr Shamsuddin, who had carried out autopsy on the body of Mir Murtaza Bhutto.

As the counsel of Shahid Hayat was not present, he also sought adjournment. Asif Ali Zardari, represented by Azizullah K. Shaikh and Abubakar Zardari, was present in the court.

Judge Syeda Perveen Shah put off the hearing of another attempt to suicide case against Asif Zardari to July 30, said counsel Shahadat Awan.
