KARACHI, July 25: The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) on Friday demanded of the government to ban the import of betel nut, used in betel leaves for chewing, besides restricting advertisement of such products through electronic and print media.
Dr Habibur Rehman Soomro, General Secretary, PMA and Dr Qaiser Sajjad, while speaking at a press conference at the PMA House also demanded that the association must be given representation in committees formed on the directives of the Sindh High Court for sorting out confiscated betel nut by the Custom authorities. — PPI
