SBP disputes committee

KARACHI, July 25: The president of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mian Nasser Hyatt Maggo urged the Governor, State Bank to include a representative of the chamber in its committee, formed for resolution of disputes between borrowers and the banks.

In a letter to the governor, SBP, he said the constitution of the committee showed that there was no representation of private sector on the committee. It comprised of all the technical members from the public sector whereas, the borrowers belonged to the private sector, he argued.

In order to make it rationale in its consideration and decision, it was suggested that the Karachi Chamber might also be given representation on the committee.—APP
