HYDERABAD, July 24: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, on Thursday issued notices to the DCO, DPO, Mullan Union Council Nazim, an the SHO and two others on a constitutional petition.

Ghulam Mohammad had filed the petition, alleging that he was being harassed by police officials of the Husri police station and the Pabban police post.

He said respondent Mohammad Hashim was trying to get a road constructed on his agricultural land in Mullan deh, leading to his Autaq.

The petitioner said he had also filed a civil suit before the fifth senior civil judge of Hyderabad.

He said respondent Nazim Mohammad Thebo was a close relative of Mr Hashim. He said the Nazim was interfering in the matter despite it was sub judice.

He said respondent policemen were visiting his residence and his family members were living under fear of the police. He said visits of policemen to his house were illegal as no case was registered against him at any police station.

The petitioner prayed the court to direct the DPO to submit the list of cases, if any, against him and direct the DCO and the Nazim not to misuse their authority.

He said he should be provided with protection.

The court issued notices to respondents and the additional advocate general of Sindh.

TWO FINED: Justice Wahid Bux Brohi of the Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, on Thursday fined two persons Rs10,000 for filing a frivolous constitutional petition in the court against police officials.

Manzoor Ahmad and Hameed Khaskheli had filed the petition, praying the court to restrain respondent police officials from harassing them.

The court had earlier issued notices to DPOs and TPOs of Hyderabad and Badin, SHOs of Badin and Tando Ghulam Ali police stations, Sindh AAG and two others on the petition.

The court observed that after going through the petition and statements of police officials it transpired that there were no complaints against the police and the matter was presented in an exaggerated way.
