KARACHI: SDA chief asks for PM’s help

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, July 24: Chief of the Sindh Democratic Alliance and aprovincial minister Imtiaz Ahmad Sheikh has drawn the attention of Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali to the injustices meted out to income tax officers hailing from Sindh, Balochistan and the NWFP who, he said, had been bypassed by the departmental promotion committee (DPC).

In his letter to the PM, the minister pointed out that in the July 3 and 4 meeting of the DPC, which was held to consider promotion of the ITOs of grade 19 and 20, not a single candidate out of the total 12 had been granted promotion.

Mr Sheikh said that such injustices without a plausible rationale had set a demoralizing effect on the honest officers.
