KARACHI, July 24: Two vessels carrying containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Meanwhile, the KPT reported highest berth occupancy at the wharves on Wednesday where 19 ships including a rice loader, seven container ships, four with fertilizer and three with general cargo were lying on the berths unloading and loading cargoes.

The berth occupancy at 85 per cent was claimed to be the highest so far, while three ships awaiting berths off-port are expected to be toed in late in the evening.

The ships, which got berths included Al-Mirqab, Bunga Masdua, Bunga Masempat Mar Challenger and India Star to unload and load containers and Irina-2, to offload tallow.

Three ships, Westerland, Min He and L.M.Z. Valia departed on Thursday, while India Star, Bunga Masempat, Saleh al-Deen, Oriental Lily, Al-Mirqab and Hyundai Future are due to sail out on Friday.

A total tonnage of 75,787 tons comprising 18,259 tons of export cargo and 57,528 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Friday: Wan Hai-301 and Cape Byron, with containers.
