Licences issued to 13 new TV channels

ISLAMABAD, July 23: Minister for Information Shaikh Rashid Ahmad has said the AJK channel will start working from February 5 next year.

Talking to media persons, after the inauguration of the exhibition of photographs of Zaighum Zaidi at the National Art Gallery here on Wednesday, the minister said 13 new channels had been issued licenses in addition to the seven already issued. He said PTV was also going to increase its own channels, and PTV Home would soon be launched.

Other channels include a sports channel for which foreign collaboration can also be looked into as some foreign channel has shown interest. He said he would be willing to talk to any Mirpuri living in England for establishing the AJK TV channel in Mirpur. He might go to London himself in this connection, he said. — Mufti Jamiluddin Ahmad
