KARACHI:Compensation to rain-hit people pledged


KARACHI, July 23: Provincial Minister and President Sindh democratic Alliance (SDA), Imtiaz Ahmad Shaikh, has demanded the city district government Karachi to start repairing damaged roads and improving the sewerage system in the city affected badly due to the recent widespread rains.

He was addressing a large gathering during his visit to the rain-affected areas at Qayumabad here on Wednesday. The minister assured the government was well conscious of the hardship and miseries faced by the masses during and after the rains, and after an evaluation of the losses suffered by the affected people they would be financially compensated.

The councillor of UC Qayumabad complained to the minister of the non-cooperation of Nazims of the union and town councils.—PPI
