MUZAFFARABAD, July 22: The Muttahida Jihad Council, an alliance of Kashmiri Mujahideen groups, on Tuesday condemned the killing of Hindus in occupied territory, terming it an act of terrorism.

“The Mujahideen groups strongly condemn the attack, consider it terrorism and a brutal act against humanity,” said MJC chief Syed Salahuddin.

He said the alliance members believed that the attack had been carried out under a conspiracy hatched to defame the freedom struggle.

“Such incidents and killing of innocent people cannot benefit the freedom struggle or advance the cause of the Mujahideen. But they certainly can benefit the Indian government and Indian agencies which have been trying since long to give a terrorist colour to our movement,” the MJC chief said.

“Let me declare categorically that no fighter group is involved in this act because it is highly damaging and against the interests of our movement. We have good reasons to believe that it could be a planned act of the Indian agencies.”
