Foster’s arrival delayed

LAHORE, July 22: The arrival of Daryl Foster, an Australian coach appointed for the National Cricket Academy, has been delayed, a spokesman of PCB announced on Tuesday. Foster, who had remodelled the bowling action of Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar has been hired by the PCB, was supposed to join the first day of the academy on Thursday, but apparently has again changed his programme.

Meanwhile, PCB has decided to start the academy on Thursday with simplicity.

“There will be no inauguration ceremony when the academy begins from Thursday”, PCB official Col. Pervez told journalists.

He said that only the 32 players of Pakistan Academy and Pakistan Junior teams would report to the coach, Aaqib Javed on Wednesday and with that the academy would get start from next day.

The Pakistan Academy team is leaving for South Africa on Aug 4 and the Junior side for Sri Lankan tour from Aug 9.
