KARACHI: SHC restrains CDGK from action against billboards
KARACHI, July 22: A division bench of High Court of Sindh, comprising Justice Zahid Kurban Alavi and Justice Zia Pervez, on Tuesday issued stay orders against the City District Government Karachi in respect of removal of hoardings.
The bench was hearing a constitutional petition, filed by the Advertisers Association, through its general secretary.
The petitioner maintained that their members have paid fee up to June 2004, and, therefore, no action can be taken.
The court was prayed to issue a stay restraining the CDGK from taking action against advertisement boards, etc., by the members of the petitioner association.
Manzoor Ahmed, counsel for the CDGK, opposed the plea. Later, he requested that the stay order be kept limited to those members of the petitioner who have paid the requisite fees till June 2004.—APP
