PESHAWAR, July 21: The government has established the District Public Safety Commission for the districts of Buner and Charsadda, said an official handout on Monday.

Being set up under sections 37 and 38 of the Police Order 2002, the DPSC will comprise independent members appointed by the provincial governor on the recommendations of the respective district selection panels and the Zila council members elected by Zila councils.

The district public safety commission members shall function in accordance with section 44, in addition to the duties notified by the government from time to time.

Members of the Buner district public safety commission are: Mr Abdul Wahid Khan, Mr Amir Rehman, Mr Sher Khan, Ms Akhtar Jehan (independent), Mr Said Moambar Bacha, Mr Mohammad Iqbal Khan, Mr Waliur Rehman and Ms Maria (district council).

Members of the DPSC Charsadda are: independent members — Mr Feroz Shah Kakakhel, Mr Umar Daraz Khan, Mr Bashar Khan and Ms Aalia Ibrahim, and district council members — Mr Mohammad Fayaz Khan, Mr Sajid Khan, Ms Nilofar, and Mr Asad Zaman.
