PRETORIA, July 19: New Zealand confirmed their status as World Cup favourites on Saturday with a record-breaking 52-16 win over South Africa in the Tri-nations championship.
The All Blacks scored seven sweetly executed tries against a team who upset World Cup champions Australia in the opening round last weekend.
Wings Joe Rokocoko and Doug Howlett both scored two tries with flyhalf Carlos Spencer, centre Aaron Mauger and replacement prop Keews Meeuws also crossing the line in a one-sided exhibition of handling rugby.—Reuters
