Army’s Amjad floors Kashif

RAWALPINDI, July 19: Army boxers continued to dominate in the All-Pakistan

Brig Rodham Junior Boxing Championship on Saturday, the second day of competitions at the Army Stadium.

In the opening bout, Jalal Kashif of Army A defeated Sindh’s Nasrullah on points in the light flyweight category to set the pattern of the early fights of the evening.

Then it was light flyweight Muhammad Amjad’s turn to step into the ring, Representing the Army B team he knocked out Navy’s Muhammad Kashif by landing accurate punches on his rival much to the cheers of the crowd.

Later KPT’s Muhammad Ali defeated Daraz Khan of Railways on points in the third bout of the evening while Ijaz Ahmed kayoed Irfanullah of NWFP.

Over 100 boxers from the four provinces, three services and KPT, Railways and Wapda are taking part in the championship that will conclude on Tuesday.

Results: Lightflyweight Jalal Kashif (Army A) bt Nasrullah (Sindh) on points; Muhammad Amjad (Army B) ko Muhammad Kashif (Navy); Wali Muhammad (KPT) bt Daraz Khan (Railways) on points; Ijaz Ahmed (Punjab) ko Irfanullah (NWFP).
