Accession to Pakistan Day observed

MIRPUR, July 19: Kashmiris living both sides of the Line of Control and rest of the world including Pakistan on Saturday observed the 57th Kashmir’s Accession to Pakistan Day.

They observed the day with a renewed pledge to continue the struggle for freedom of the occupied Kashmir from the Indian occupation and to translate the idea of accession of the entire Jammu and Kashmir state to Pakistan into a reality.

The day was declared a public holiday throughout Azad Jammu Kashmir. Special ceremonies including seminars and symposiums were held under the aegis of various social and political organizations in all the seven districts of the AJK including Mirpur, Kotli, Bagh, Sudhanoti, Bhimber, Rawalakot and Muzaffarabad to highlight the importance of the historic day.

The day dawned with special prayers in all the mosques for the stability, progress and prosperity of Pakistan, and freedom of the occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The day was observed at a time when global efforts are under way for an early peaceful solution to the Kashmir dispute through resumption of dialogue between India and Pakistan.—APP
