KARACHI: IT teachers for schools, colleges soon

KARACHI, July 19: Sindh Education Minister Irfanullah Marwat on Saturday said the government had decided to recruit information technology specialists for imparting computer education at intermediate colleges and higher secondary schools.

“Vacant posts of teaching and non-teaching staff in the department will be filled on contractual basis, which will be advertised in national dailies, shortly”, he said while presiding over a meeting of the EDOs of education from all over the province at his office.

Directing the EDOs to submit reports on required IT equipment and faculty at various educational institutions within a week, he asked them to make computer laboratories at the institutions functional by the end of summer vacations.

He also asked the EDOs to present audit reports, of their respective districts, regarding utilization of funds and added that if any irregularity was found, no more funds would be provided and inquiries would be initiated against responsible officials.

The meeting was also attended by additional secretaries of the education department and project directors.—PPI
