ISLAMABAD, July 18: The Secretariat police arrested three persons and seized 7,500 liquor bottles from their possession on Thursday night.

The police had received information that some bootleggers were attempting to smuggle a large quantity of liquor bottles on which a contingent of police continued patrolling till late Thursday night.

The police party stopped a truck at Khana picket and seized 7,500 liquor bottles from it. They also arrested a bootlegger, Sarwar, and his two other accomplices wanted by the police in several cases.

During investigation, the accused confessed that they were involved in sale of liquor for a long time.—APP
