VILNIUS, July 18: Some 40 illegal immigrants from Asia and the former Soviet Union have gone on hunger strike in a Lithuanian centre to protest the slow processing of their appeals for residency, the center said on Friday.
They are among 95 immigrants, mainly from Armenia, Azerbaijan, India, Pakistan and Ukraine held in the Pabrade Foreigners Registration Center. The men began refusing meals on Thursday, the center said.—AFP
