PTCL defeat Navy

BAHAWALPUR, July 16: PTCL defeated Pakistan Navy 2-1 in the inaugural match of All-Pakistan PTCL Floodlit Football Tournament at Bahawalpur Stadium on Wednesday night.

Both teams could not score till half time. All the three goals were scored in the second session. PTCL’s Zahid Hamid broke the deadlock when he on the pass of Tahir Karamat scored in the 58th minute. Two minutes later striker Aziz Ahmed, who on the pass of Tahir Karamat made it 2-0.

Navy’s Basharat Ali with an individual efforts reduced the margin.

The tournament is participated by country’s twelve leading departments and regional teams. The league matches will be played upto July 20 and quarter final events will be held on July 21 and 22.

The semi-final will be played on July 23 while final will be held on July 25.
