Faisalabad rout Pindi

LAHORE, July 15: Four matches were decided on first day of the NBP Punjab inter-district hockey championship on Tuesday.

Holders, Faisalabad outclassed Rawalpindi 6-1. Pervez and Shahbaz scored two goals each while Shabbir and Taufiq added a goal, apiece. For Rawalpindi, Jamshed struck the lone goal.

Muzaffagarh struggled to beat Mianwali 2-1. Irfan Hyder and Mukhtar scored a goal each for the winners. Shoaib reduced the margin for Mianwali.

Two goals by Asif helped Rahimyar Khan to beat Dera Ghazi Khan 3-0. Irfan scored the other goal for the winners.

Vehari and Narowal played a 1-1 drawn game.

Aamir Shahzad struck for Vehari while Irfan scored the equaliser for Narowal.

Four more matches will be played on Wednesday.
