LANDI KOTAL, July 15: One person was killed while another was kidnapped in two separate incidents in Landi Kotal and Jamrud subdivisions of the Khyber agency.

The first incident occurred in the Landi Kotal bazaar in which a man, Khalid Khan Khugakhel, was beaten to death over a monetary dispute by Bakhtullah and three of his accomplices.

Earlier, they had tried to kidnap Khalid Khan, who is said to be a heart patient.

Landi Kotal Line Officer Hikmat Afridi arrested Bakhtullah while three of his colleagues managed to escape.

Shopkeepers in the Landi Kotal bazaar protested against the incident by closing down their shops.

In the other incident, Haji Toor was kidnapped by his rival Sher Gul from Sakhi Pul area of Jamrud. The reason for the kidnapping was stated to be a monetary dispute between the two persons.
